Frequently asked questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes!

Medicare and American Specialty Health (ASH)

ASH provides coverage for many insurance companies including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, and Kaiser Permanente.

We also accept Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, and Auto Accident patients.

What should I expect for the first visit?

The first visit will start off with Dr. Karl reviewing the history of your complaint. Based off this info he will conduct a precise but comprehensive exam to get down to the root cause of your issue. Depending on the exam findings, X-Rays may or may not be taken (they are not necessary for most patients in Dr. Karl's experience). After the exam, you will have your first treatment session that will begin with Active Release Technique, the adjustments, and some guidance on a few exercises to improve your condition.

How many visits will this take?

This depends on the severity of your injury. Long-standing chronic issues and severe acute injuries typically take the most visits. These two more serious injuries will typically take around 12 visits over 3 to 4 weeks to resolve (some severe injuries will take longer depending on the injured tissue: ligament, tendon, muscle, joint, or bone etc.). For minor injuries there will be fewer than 12 visits to resolve the issue. After resolution of your issue, it is best to receive Maintenance Care for a short period of time to ensure the treatments hold and to progress some of the exercises to your new abilities. See infographic below for healing information.

How should I prepare for the first visit?

If you would like to save time you can fill out the Patient Intake Form here. Or you can send an email to drolssondeem@gmail.com to request an online version to fill out. Please come to the appointment in athletic clothing (shorts, tee shirts, leggings) as you will be moving and treatment works better through minimal clothing.

How can I contact you?

You can reach us at drolssondeem@gmail.com, 970-531-6202 (Cell), or 650-593-4447 (Clinic/Appointments). We are always happy to answer your questions.

Will I have to keep coming forever?

No, you do not need to receive adjustments forever to stay healthy. However, we recommend Optimal Performance Care visits to everyone after their primary issue is resolved. This is meant to keep you performing at your maximum capabilities whether it be at the gym, recreational sports, or at work. These would be much less frequent (every 3 weeks to 2 months) and depend on your preference or activity level. As long as keep all dysfunction resolved, your symptoms (pain) and degeneration (arthritis) will be kept to a minimum (see infographic below to learn about the connection of dysfunction, pain, and degeneration).
